About Us

We are a proud family business with roots deeply anchored in the red soil of Kenya. Our journey began with a simple vision: to honor the rich tradition and immense talent of Kenyan craftswomen by making their handmade sisal products accessible to a global community.
At the heart of our mission is our commitment to creating fair trading conditions. We ensure that our craftswomen are directly supported by paying fair prices that value their work and provide them with a sustainable income.
As a family business, we place great value on personal relationships, sustainability, and the promotion of communities.

How we work locally in Kenya:
Grace is our local buyer in Kenya. She knows the craftswomen in the villages personally and maintains regular contact with them. This enables us to buy the Kiondos directly at the source. It is very important to us that the craftswomen receive the full price and that no middlemen profit from it.
Where to find us in Switzerland:
Sarah lives in Switzerland with her family. Looking for an idea connected to her culture and childhood, she remembered the time when she herself braided Kiondos, and from this, Kyondo was born.
We run the online shop and regularly participate in markets with our stand.
